About this tour
Spend the day looking for wildlife across Yellowstone, mostly on the park’s northern loop. You visit places such as Lamar Valley or Hayden Valley where you may see wolves, bears, coyotes, pronghorn, elk and bison. You also search rivers, valleys, forests and other places for animals such as bighorn sheep, mountain goats and river otters. On the way, enjoy the wide views of the land they live in. The company says no trip gives you a better chance of spotting a wolf or a bear, though it cannot promise one.
The route
In the order the operator lists them, these are the stops. Time spent at each is the operator's estimate, and wildlife and traffic affect it.
-
Lamar Valley
Drive across Lamar Valley, nicknamed the American Serengeti, searching for wolves, bears, bison, elk and pronghorn. How long you stay depends on where the animals are that day.
-
Tower Fall
Take a short hike out to Tower Fall, along the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This walk is optional, because wildlife comes first on this trip.
-
Yellowstone National Park
On the way to and from Lamar Valley, you stop for wildlife and pretty views when there is time.
