Before you book
Guests who are not US residents pay an extra $100 each to enter the park from the age of 16, tour or no tour, and an annual or America the Beautiful pass waives that. Tours that drive into the park from West Yellowstone run only until 31 October 2026, the final day the road takes cars.
Where it starts
Meet the guide at West Yellowstone Town Park, and leave your car on its south side for the day. There is no pickup: the whole group meets at the start.
Pickup details
Meet your guide at West Yellowstone Town Park, where you can leave your car on the south side for the day and ride in the company’s big van. Your guide messages you one or two days ahead with the details.
Guests of Under Canvas West Yellowstone can be met at the camp instead; this pickup is for its guests only.
About this tour
On this small-group day you see geyser basins, waterfalls and deep canyons, and look out for bison, wolves, elk and grizzly bears along the road. Along the way your guide shares the story of the park’s people and its geology, plus a lot about its plants and wildlife.
The company drives, so you can enjoy the scenery instead of finding your way on roads you do not know, and it handles details like park entry for you.
Each group is capped at 8 hikers. If too few people sign up, you can pay extra to make it a private tour, or cancel and get all your money back.
Visitors from abroad may face a new park fee, which is collected at the park itself rather than at booking.
